Cache valley virus is a bunyavirus that causes fetal death, still-birth and congenital malformations such as arthrogryposis and anencephaly in sheep.
Cache Valley virus has been suggested to be a cause of neural tube defects in humans, although a study in 1997 could not serologically link infection with anencephaly and other defects.
Cache Valley virus was isolated from a deer hunter in North Carolina who suffered life-threatening, multi-organ failure, and recent serologic evidence suggests that deer may be a reservoir in nature.

The skiing, snowshoeing, biking and hiking paths on the Valley View golf course are just too nice to leave to golfers, especially since they can’t use them in the winter, so we finally decided to hide a regular cache just off the course, in the “woods”.
The cache is a 30 caliber ammo can located in the corner of the farthest edge of the course, or not too far from the “eagle” in the virtual cache “Through the Eyes of an Eagle”.
The cache can be easily found in winter or summer, as it is up off the ground and not likely to be snow covered (even with the 2-3 feet cover there this winter).

Though others had been in the valley some time previous, the first real settlement of Cache Valley began in 1856 at the direct counsel of Brigham Young, who made the decision after hearing of the severe problems in the Tooele settlement to the west of Salt Lake City.
