After Johnnie's fight with Tuberculosis, Cadence was chosen to re-introduce Johnnie Ray in 1960, the same year he performed in New York with The Quincy Jones Orchestra, who later scored big producing Lesley Gore's "It's My Party".
After signing a short-term contract with United Artists Records in 1961, Johnnie signed with Liberty Records in November 1961 and recorded a few duets with Timi Yuro as well as his own LP on Liberty and a re-make of "Cry" in February 1962.

It was another experiment for Cadence, their first jazz album, and the results were encouraging (although not overwhelming; the disc hit number 14 on the LP charts, but only stayed on the best seller lists for two weeks and only sold about 20,000 copies overall).
All Cadence shipments were stopped on August 24, 1964, and in early September Bleyer announced that on September 25, 1964, he would officially close the company and retire with his wife to her native Wisconsin.
The record was on Cadence with a new label design, was produced, arranged and conducted by Archie Bleyer himself.
