Cadillac Seville - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cadillac Seville was a mid-size luxury sedan manufactured by General Motors' Cadillac division from 1975 to 2004.
Another proposal during the development of the Seville was a front-wheel drive layout similar to the Cadillac Eldorado.
Cadillac determined that this was not a suitable platform for their prestige model and switched the Seville to the 114 in wheelbase K-body platform, based on the front-wheel drive E-body Eldorado, Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado.

Cadillac - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cadillac is a brand of luxury automobile, part of the General Motors corporation, produced and mostly sold in the United States and Canada; outside of North America, they have been less successful.
In the 1930s, Cadillac added cars with 12- and 16-cylinder engines to their range, many of which were fitted with custom coach-built bodies; these engines were remarkable at the time for their ability to deliver a combination of high power, silky smoothness and quietness.
Cadillac's first tailfins, inspired by the twin rudders of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, appeared in 1948; the 1959 Cadillac was the epitome of the tailfin craze, with the most recognizable tailfins of any production automobile.

1998 Cadillac Seville - The Car Connection
Cadillac would have you think of the new 1998 Seville as a "muscle car in an Armani suit." Muscle this latest GM flagship certainly has, with 300 horsepower on hand from its 4.6-liter V8; as for the Armani reference, you be the judge.
Cadillac admits that five years from now, its next-generation Seville (and all other models in the division's range) will be switching to rear-wheel drive.
The Seville now provides better feel at the wheel during hard corners than used to be the case, and responsiveness is also greatly improved by a switch to a straight, rather than variable, steering gear ratio.

Inside Line: Cadillac Seville and STS -   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
Now that the Seville name has passed into history with the appearance of the 2005 STS, it's tough to remember just how important a car the Seville was to Cadillac — and the American auto industry as a whole.
The Seville was small — for a Cadillac — and throwing in one of Cadillac's 500-cubic-inch (8.2-liter) OHV V8s would have defeated the purpose of this "international size" car.
Cadillac worked hard to make sure the 1998 Seville looked a lot like the outgoing model — even though it was actually significantly new underneath that familiar sheet metal.

CanadianDriver: Used Vehicle Review - Cadillac Eldorado/Seville/STS, 1992-2004
Way back in the day, Cadillac called their products "The Standard of the World." They were big words that were quite apt for a time when a Cadillac was a car that many aspired to, but few could afford.
Cadillac must have thought the front-wheel-drive Seville was good enough: from its introduction for 1992 to its demise in 2004, Cadillac barely touched the Seville's looks.
The gave the 1993-1997 Seville a poor rating in their frontal offset crash test, but 2000-2004 models were named a best pick thanks to a far better result.

 CARkeys - Cadillac Seville STS
The Northstar produces nearly 300bhp, which is far and away the greatest amount of power fed through the front wheels of any production car on the planet, and I suspect this has created a mindset among many critics that the car must be difficult to control, regardless of the evidence.
That would certainly explain why the Cadillac has been criticised for understeer, torque steer and all sorts of other unwelcome steers which have led to its handling being described in print as "inexcusable".
I'd be the first to admit that the Seville is a long way from being ideal.
