The 16, still using the 1938 body, was now looking quite dated as the other Cadillacs had continued to evolve and the streamlining race was in high gear.
In 1981, long after the V16 had been forgotten and all the people who designed it long since retired from GM, Cadillac would be knee deep into it's 80's downward spiral, making avialable a 4.1 liter version of the Buick V6 in the Deville, Seville, and Eldorado in the name of economy.
One is in the Cadillac V16 show vehicle used for promotions and the other currently resides in our 'mule' vehicle.

Last I heard, the Peerless V16 was in a museum, I'd have to do some digging to figure out which one.
These were a kind of luxury car which effectively died by the end of the 30s, cars like the Pierce-Arrow, Cadillac V12 and V16, Packard Twelve, Lincoln K series and, across the pond, the Phantom III, Daimler Double Six, Grosser Mercedes and the Maybach.
