The Cady Mills was later incorporated as a common carrier on Mar 22, 1887.
One mill was at Cady Mills (section 13 town 28N 15W), the other at East Cadt Mills located in section 24 of the same town.
It was sold July 11,1892 to the Minnesota & Wisconsin Railroad, (A company in which Sabin also held an interest) which promptly went bankrupt an was sold to the CSPM&O. What was the Wildwood Logging Branch became the northern portion of the CSPM&O's branch to Weston.

 CADY v. DOMBROWSKI
The Supreme Court of Wisconsin, in reviewing the conviction on direct appeal, stated that "even though the evidence that led to his conviction was circumstantial, we have seldom seen a stronger collection of such evidence assembled and presented by the prosecution." State v.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the sock and the portion of the floor mat were validly seized from the 1960 Dodge.
The reasoning of the Wisconsin Supreme Court was that although these items were not listed to be seized in the warrant, the warrant was valid and in executing it the officers discovered the sock and mat in plain view and therefore could constitutionally seize them without a warrant.

 WDNR - Cady's Marsh State Natural Area
Deep-soil loamy prairies are one of the rarest natural plant communities in Wisconsin with nearly all having fallen to the plow.
Cady's Marsh is of historic interest in that it served as one of the last strongholds of prairie chickens (Tympanuchus cupido) in Sauk County.
Cady's Marsh is owned by the DNR and was designated a State Natural Area in 1998.

Lee Cady found in the Red Bluffs, California, newspapers three advertisements where Thomas Cady was selling, in 1859, 300 head of cattle in one advertizment and 200 head of cattle in another.
There is no exact date of their trip to Panama and back through N.Y. to Wisconsin but it must have been in the winter of 1859-60 as they were still selling cattle in Dec. 1859 and were in Wisconsin for the 1860 census.
The Cady boys were breaking sod to plant a field using a team of oxen and a hand plow.

 The Corn-Soybean Rotation: A New Kid on the Block
Within the last farm generation (20 to 30 years) significantly more acreage has been planted to corn and soybean in Wisconsin and the Midwest U.S. This cropping system is a relative “new kid on the block.” Much discussion is taking place about whether or not the corn-soybean system can be sustainable.
The first county in Wisconsin to have more than 85% of its cropland in corn and soybean was Rock County during 2001 (derived from USDA Statistics).
The southern two tiers of counties in Wisconsin have traditionally had a large proportion of acres in corn and soybean, and recently more acres are increasing towards the northeast.

After graduating from Troy Female Seminary in 1832, she became active in the temperance and anti-slavery causes, challenging barriers to female leadership in both movements.
In 1848, she helped organize the historic women's rights convention in Seneca Falls and authored its Declaration of Sentiments, paraphrasing the Declaration of Independence to proclaim that "men and women are created equal." Over the next half-century, Stanton energetically advocated women's rights to participate fully in all areas of social, intellectual and political life.

One of the reasons Baldwin was given the title of the "Biggest Little Town in Wisconsin" is that the volume of mail that came through the village post office was very high when it was compared percentage-wise to the population.
The Baldwin Fire District was consolidated in January, 1994, to include 13 municipalities in the area, including villages of Baldwin, Hammond, Woodville and Wilson, and the townships of Baldwin, Springfield, Hammond, Emerald, Pleasant Valley, Rush River, Eau Galle, Erin Prairie and Cady.
The move brought the ISO rating up to #4, and increased the efficiency of the operation by offering the services of total of 80 volunteer members and 13 trucks.
