Caerphilly County Borough has a rich and varied historic environment including listed buildings, conservation areas, ancient monuments, archaeological sites and historic parks, gardens and landscapes.

The partners are all keen to see action to conserve the biodiversity of the county borough and by bringing together representatives from various sectors of the community, as well as the "major players" (such as Forestry Commission, CCW and Environment Agency Wales), there is a better chance for real success.
The Caerphilly Biodiversity Partnership welcomes the additional funding allocated by the National Assembly for local biodiversity action this year and requests that this is available on an annual basis.

 South Wales - CAERPHILLY FIRST TO KICKSTART NEW BUS
Working with the Welsh Assembly Government and Caerphilly County Borough Council, Stagecoach Group Plc is undertaking a £1.5 million three-year KickStart scheme on two key routes, connecting Senghenydd and Graig y Rhacca to Caerphilly town centre, the University Hospital of Wales (Heath) and Cardiff.
Under the terms of this three-way partnership, the Welsh Assembly Government and Caerphilly Borough Council have jointly committed £310,000 to the Caerphilly KickStart project, which aims to be completely self-financing within three years.
A half-hourly service from Caerphilly to Cardiff is retained, although passengers with mobility problems and/or buggies will particularly benefit from the new low-floor vehicles when they travel to the Heath Hospital or City centre shops.

As part of the School Travel Plans many parents reported they were concerned about pupils running across the busy road and the muddy grass bank making their shoes and uniforms very dirty.
Results of the School Travel Plan Survey was forwarded to Caerphilly County Borough Council and a fence was erected which prevented cars parking on the pavement and children walking on the grassy parts of the area.
Given that a large proportion of children walking to School are accompanied by an adult, the School will investigate the possibility of setting up a Walking Bus, in an attempt to increase the number of pupils walking to School.
