I usually order café sua da, or "coffee with milk and ice." Be sure there's only the thinnest layer of creamy white condensed milk at the bottom of the glass, or you'll find yourself sipping liquid candy.
No matter where you are in the world, a truly Vietnamese restaurant will offer their coffee this way, dripped at the table in one of these painfully slow metal filters.

The coffee with condensed sweetened milk is called cafe su a da, (not the correct spelling, more like how it is said).
Alternatively Cafe could be spelt Caphe depending on how traditional the place is (Vietnamese has no F just PH to make the sound but its interchangeable.) Cafe Sua is just Coffee with Sweetened Condensed Milk.
Da means "rock" but in context it means ice, kinda similar to the phrase "on the rocks" in English.

I forgot to mention, Cafe Du Monde is pretty much a French roast,

QQ Cafe (3575 W. Walnut St. at Jupiter Road, 972-205-9889) is alive and well and I recommend it highly.
Besides free wifi they have café sua dá, bubble tea, rice bowls, online gaming and loud pop music in Vietnamese and three or four other languages (something treacly just came on in Spanish, followed by of all things a Guy Forsyth track!).
What I'm unsure of is whether there should be a diacritic on "sua" (diacritics in Vietnamese serve to represent tones).

I looked back in the store to see the two ladies staring out at me. I gave them the thumbs up and a grin, and they broke into smiles that were either relieved at seeing me like the coffee or relieved at seeing me finally leave.

One of the most fabulous beverages known to man and woman-kinds alike is the sublime Vietnamese Iced Coffee, or Café Sua Da (or even, Ca Phe Sua Da, to further transliterate.
This coffee is in the same style as the more commonly found Cafe Du Monde, which comes from the French-quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana.
I bought Cafe Hao Coffee at my local vietnamese market, but the grind is a bit too fine.

I'm not Vietnamese, but I've spent time living in Vietnam near Hoan Kiem Lake when I worked with agriculture, coffee and irrigation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at the time.
I like the old Cafe Sua Da as well, the old french press style made with condensed milk on ice.
