		The speaker of parliament announced today that he will write to the president to tell him that the seat for Cakaudrove West, formerly held by Deputy speaker Raquita Vakalabure, is now vacant.
		While saying exceptions had been made in the past for those in urgent need of medical care and for other humanitarian reasons, he did not feel that serving a jail term qualified for exception to the rule.
		No date has been announced for a by-election in Cakaudrove West and a new deputy speaker will be required when parliament sits in the new year.

		On the motion of no confidence, Cakaudrove chief Ratu Tevita Vakalalabure clarified the matter by saying that he and not Ratu Inoke moved the motion.

	Dragonflies and Damselflies of Fiji
		One of the first dragonflies I came across in Fiji remains one of my favourites, it revels in the Latin name Agrionoptera insignis.
		This particular individual was quite a long way up a ridge on a logging track behind Silktail Lodge at Devo on the Tunuloa Peninsula, which is also known as the Natewa or Cakaudrove Peninsula.
		This species isn't endemic to Fiji, instead several different sub-species are found throughout Asia.
