WHEREFORE, the decision appealed from is reversed and another is hereby rendered ordering the Municipality, of Calatrava, Negros Occidental, to pay the entire salary of appellant from the date of his suspension, May 10, 1955, up to the date of his final separation from office, September 15, 1957, at the rate of P780.00 per annum.

 20/6/2005 -- Negros forest reserve endorsed as protected area
BACOLOD CITY-The Regional Development Council (RDC) in Western Visayas on Friday endorsed the bid of Negros Occidental to have the 80,454.5-hectare North Negros Forest Reserve (NNFR) declared a protected area, Gov. Joseph Marañon said.
The governor said the area needed to be declared a protected area since the NNFR is the largest watershed in Negros Occidental, and a water source for 17 local government units in central and northern Negros.
The NNFR is also home to endangered endemic species of flora and fauna such as the Philippine Spotted Deer, Visayan Warty Pig, Hornbills and Bleeding Heart Pigeon, a report from the governor said.
