Caleb's ancestor, the Elder John Strong, who settled in Northampton in 1659, established a tannery and became a leading man in the affairs of the town and of the church.
Strong also took an interest in several societies and was president of the Hampshire Missionary Society and the Hampshire Bible Society, one of the founders of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the Massachusetts Historical Society.
Strong served eleven terms as Governor of Massachusetts from 1800 to 1807 and from 1812 to 1816 when he retired from politics and returned to Northampton.

Caleb's seems to be doing well, his weight is not dropping, he is happy and active, and outwardly he looks great; even the doctors said he looked the best ever so far.
Calebs surgey will be a two part surgery, the Doctor will remove all the lessions on one lung, then he will be in the hospital for about a week, then Caleb will recover for a fe weeks and go back into surgery to remove the lessions from the other lung.
Caleb will have a follow-up visit on Wednesday, and another surdical appoint in about 3 weeks, to prepare for the next surgury, which will be to remove the two lesions seen on the left lung in the CT scan.
