The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) was founded in 1998 to establish an annual film festival that would serve as a forum for filmgoers and film industry personnel in Calgary to view and discuss indigenous and global films.
The first CIFF took place in 2000, and the festival is now an annual event, screening a diverse program of film reflecting Calgary’s artistic/multi-cultural population.
The organization also hosts screenings and special film events throughout the year, engaging in a wide range of community activity to support the art of filmmaking in Calgary.
