Yes all of the above arguments are true, but one must remember that Calgary is now home to almost a million people and the 88's used to average about 7,000 fans a game the last two seasons of the summer WBL.
Everyone said back then that the 88's wouldn't be able to suvive playing during the summer when the CFL Stampeders and the PCL Cannons also played and that people didn't want to be inside during the short summers.
Unfortunately, this might be the case where the league folds around the Calgary team like the WBL and NBL did.

Story of the playoffs was the Cinderella run of the Calgary Knights who swept the first round then took the Mounties to 4 games in the South Final before bowing out.
At the Tier II provincials it was the host Red Deer Rampage pushing the Edmonton Warriors in the final but the Warriors proved to be stronger and held on to the 7-6 decision.

It is shocking that City Parks, having witnessed the untimely demise of numerous non local, “professional” franchises going back to the CBL Outlaws, the Drillers and Calgary Professional Baseball, and knowing full well that the Vipers would prevent the Dawgs from playing at Foothills Stadium, did nothing to protect the Dawgs.
The Calgary Dawgs Baseball Club is ready, willing and able to deliver the best in Single A caliber, summer collegiate baseball, to the City of Calgary.
