At least two free daily newspapers are hitting the streets in Calgary, aimed at young commuters.
There's no official word from Quebecor, the publishers of the Calgary Sun, about whether it plans to join the free paper fray, but sources told CBC Radio the company's free daily, 24, may also be heading to Calgary.
Free dailies are cheaper to produce than paid circulation newspapers, making them a more affordable option for advertisers, who also like the fact that the smaller page count makes their ad more prominent, according to an article by the International Newspaper Marketing Association.
