It was abolished in 1952 with parts being transferred to Calgary North, Calgary South and Red Deer.
In was re-created in 1976 from Calgary North, Calgary South, and Palliser.

Calgary West Basketball (Calwest) is a volunteer run, non-profit organization that provides basketball training and competition for boys and girls ages 7 to 18.
Calgary West practices are different for every team, but are usually one or two nights a week for one to two hours, at a gym on the south west side of the city or in Springbank.
Calgary West Basketball also reserves the right to ask a player or family to withdraw from the program, without refund, for serious or continuous violations of CMBA or Calgary West Basketball rules by either players or other family members.

A woman in her 20s is the first documented case of West Nile virus in the province, health officials said Tuesday.
Health officials say the mosquito that carries West Nile isn't the most common type of biting mosquito in the province, and the chances of developing the disease, even if bitten, are slim.
There have been two confirmed cases of West Nile in humans this year – one in Saskatchewan, which was found when the man donated blood, and one in Ottawa.
