| | Throughout the Kern Canyon and in the Kern Valley hilltops are displaying waves of orange from California poppies. |
| | The California poppies were closed but this subspecies is the Kernville Poppy, it has really huge blossoms and is beautiful even closed, I look forward to seeing it on a warmer day. |
