However...the "California Golden Bear" on the California state flag is indeed a Grizzly bear.

It is mounted on heavy green wool felt, measures 6 feet from nose to tail and is fully intact with all claws.
It is in extremely good condition considering its age, has had no repairs and is quite rare in that such bears were last seen in California in the 1920s.
The bear rug is said to have once graced a California Bank President's office.
