| | Calliandra |
 | | (often simply called "calliandra") is a small agroforestry tree native to Central America and Mexico that is cultivated widely in the humid tropics. |
 | | While the predominant use of calliandra is the production of fodder for ruminant livestock, other uses are also found within different farming systems and include the provision of green manure, fuelwood, shade for coffee and tea, land rehabilitation, erosion control, and honey production. |
 | | The species grows well on acidic soils where other agroforestry trees perform poorly, and it is primarily used outside its native range in areas where high population densities place pressure on limited land resources, and where agroforestry systems are being developed to maintain and sustain agricultural production. |
