Calling all hands! - RGT Online
Calling stations by and large tend to play passively, a style of play that is characterized by the reluctance to bet and raise.
Unfortunately, as you well know, Tom, calling stations will hit more backdoor and other unlikely draws than most players, and that is why they can be annoying to play alongside.
The style of play that has worked very well for me over the years against most players, including pesky calling stations, is being

The central amplifier or master station usually has a provision for background music input or has some type of player or tuner built in allowing music to be distributed to all or some stations.
Master stations cost quite a bit more than sub stations, so a mix of masters and subs is common in both residential and commercial applications.
Selective call systems in general cost more than all call systems, but there are obvious advantages in privacy and flexibility.

GENESIS Calling All Stations reviews and MP3
So, "Calling All Stations" is disappointing in the sense that you wish the two remaining members of Genesis (so long considered primary writers) could have done better, because their past work is proof positive of their potential.
Calling all stations is a good track but the rest of the album is dull and lifeless.
For me, 'Calling All Stations' is a sad coda to the glorious career of Genesis, as it's utterly devoid of charisma, charm or even stylistic variation, with every song sounding homogenised and just plain boring.

Having the top pair on the board and the best kicker I made it 5 times the big blind and was called by one of the "calling stations."
I already had a lot of money in the pot and this guy was calling me, never raising me. I checked, he checked and I figured I won the pot with my pair of kings and ace kicker.

The 2+2 Forums: The calling stations in our life.....
On a tangentially but-only-slightly related note, I tried to explain "calling stations" to the readership of DailyKos in response to David Mamet's editorial implying that the Democrats don't know when to raise and either get bluffed out or just call down to the river and lose every hand.
We don't tell a calling station s/he is playing incorrectly, and we certainly don't yell at them for chasing and spiking an obvious one- outer on the river.
Surely, if we were to offend a calling station, we would be berated by them, "Well, look who won that pot, huh?" A win is a win and a loss is a loss.

Putting Calling Stations on a Hand
I see a lot of people "complaining" about calling stations and how they hit a little 2 pair on the river after calling my TPTK down with bottom pair, blah blah blah.
I would only drop to checks against a calling station if the board went four suited and I didn't have anything or if I though there was a good chance that they would raise me on the river if they hit their flush draw.
If you were to agree before the hand that you would both put one small bet in on the flop, one on the turn and one on the river each time, you would expect to be +ve if you are ditching hands they are playing.

Think about it this way, there is very little raising but lots of calls for a single bet and even when there is a raise there are usually enough callers to give the correct implied odds to draw.

The album Calling All Stations sold well in Europe but went nowhere in America, where hip-hop, alternative rock, and teen pop were supplanting classic rock on the charts.
Genesis has, for all intents and purposes, disbanded, but the individual members (including Phillips and Hackett, but excluding Gabriel) are in regular contact, and have not ruled out some sort of reunion.
Genesis recorded its first album, 1968's From Genesis to Revelation, after striking a deal with Jonathan King, a songwriter and producer who had a hit single at the time called "Everyone's Gone to the Moon".

There's a real power in what I’ll call “voice branding” and we don't acknowledge it in our complex visual world.
When I was sitting down to write this entry, it struck me how many more times we’re “branding” Twist Image through the power of voice over and above all other mediums.

On the positive side, most of Calling All Stations is composed of very nice textural mood pieces, brought home very well by the emotional vocal stylings of Ray Wilson.
At times this album seems to evoke a step back from the last few Genesis albums, calling up memories of And Then There Were Three to me. On the downside, there is a certain sameness to many of the songs on the album, particularly in the drum sounds and percussion lines.
The full lineup for this one is Ray Wilson, Tony Banks and Michael Rutherford, with two guest drummers.
