Caln Township is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States.
The township was founded by settlers from Calne, Wiltshire in England in 1714.
In the township the population was spread out with 25.5% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 35.0% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older.

At old Caln Meeting, located on the crest of the North Valley Hill, Caln Quarterly, which was established in the year 1800, held its midsummer session yesterday.
Down in the valley, where the puffing of trains on the Pennsylvania Railroad filled the air with smoke, and passing automobiles on the Lancaster Pike threw clouds of dust behind them, the air was hot and feverish, but on the hill there was a good breeze, and the peaceful atmosphere suggested worship and reverence.
The old Caln Meeting House surroundings are being improved by some of the philanthropic Friends of Chester county and among the improvements is a stone wall which is being constructed around the enclosure.

Coatesville, Pennsylvania, a heavily industrialized town, was not significantly involved in the Underground Railroad activity and some historians believe it may have been hostile to run-w-way slaves.
In early 1989, the East Fallowfield Township Historical Commission told the Township supervisors that the cemetery on Caln Road, South of Goosetown Road, was in disrepair and had been looted, possibly for artifacts of the Civil War soldiers buried there.

The victim, Long Nhat Trinh, 28, was shot with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun in the parking lot at the Hibachi restaurant, said Chester County District Attorney Joseph W. Carroll.
Brian Naylor of the Pennsylvania State Police said the victim, who died of multiple gunshot wounds, was employed at the restaurant, in the Ashbridge Commons shopping center in the 900 block of East Lancaster Avenue.
