		I recently finished reading the book, "Why I Am Not A Calvinist," by Jerry Walls and Joseph Dongell; 2004, InterVarsity Press, Downers Grove, IL This is a book for the masses.
		Bringing Scripture to bear on such topics as the sovereignty of God and the nature of salvation, the authors discuss the positions of both Calvinists and Arminians along with the perceived flaws of the former and the advantages of the latter.
		I believe the Calvinists have taken a particular portion of truth and pursued it too far in one direction.

	The Many Warnings of Scripture
		If anyone were to warn a Calvinist with any of the warnings in the Bible, the Calvinist's first response would be that he does not need to heed such warnings because his salvation is secure and he does not need to worry about it!
		Hence, if the Calvinist doctrine were true, God would be deceiving people for no real purpose since God himself would know that these Christians could not fall short of salvation in the first place.

		One reason I am not a Calvinist is because John Calvin condemned and endorsed the burning of a man named Servetus at the stake for disagreeing with him doctrinally (October 27, 1553).
		This is not the reason why we call are self Calvinist, we call are selfes calvinist because we believe in the five points that are often referred to as the doctrine of Calvinism.
		I have been accused of blasphemy and worse for merely suggesting that Calvin was a sinner and that Calvinism is not the Gospel and that Jesus was not a Calvinist and that Calvinism in many of its points is not biblical unless you carry a Calvinistic mindset into your study of the scriptures.
