Camber angle is the angle made by the wheel of an automobile; specifically, it is the angle between the vertical axis of the wheel and the vertical axis of the vehicle when viewed from the front or rear.
If the top of the wheel is further out than the bottom (that is, away from the axle), it is called positive camber, if the bottom of the wheel is further out than the top, it is called negative camber.
This is because it presents the tyre which is taking the greatest proportion of the cornering forces at a more optimal angle to the road, increasing its contact area and transmitting the forces through the vertical plane of the tyre, rather than through a shear force across it.

Camber is the angle of the wheel relative to vertical, as viewed from the front or the rear of the car.
While maintaining the ideal camber angle throughout the suspension travel assures that the tire is operating at peak efficiency, designers often configure the front suspensions of passenger cars so that the wheels gain positive camber as they are deflected upward.
Since most independent suspensions are designed so that the camber varies as the wheel moves up and down relative to the chassis, the camber angle that we set when we align the car is not typically what is seen when the car is in a corner.

Camber Settings — Car Geometry — Indicator - Overview - Circle Track
The most useful definition of camber change is the deviation from the static camber that happens when the car enters and negotiates a turn.
The number of degrees of camber that the front wheels lose or gain relative to the racing surface from static (down the straightaway) to dynamic (in the middle of the turns) chassis attitude is true camber change.
There is an optimum amount of true camber change for each of the front wheels, based on the type of race car, the magnitude of lateral traction affected by the tire's track and surface composition (lateral G-forces), the amount of track banking angle, and the setup in the car.

Camber is the angle of the tires in relation to the track and is the most basic adjustment that any racer can make.
Camber is usually adjusted by changing the length of the upper arm on the suspension or the camber link.
Adding negative camber on the front of a car can increase steering, but 1 or 2 degrees of extra negative camber (beyond the setting that causes the tires to wear flat); is all you should add.

 Camber angle in TutorGig Encyclopedia
Camber angle alters the handling qualities of a particular suspension design; in particular, negative camber improves grip when cornering.
This is because it presents the tire, which is taking the greatest proportion of the cornering forces, at a more optimal angle to the road, increasing its contact area and transmitting the forces through the vertical plane of the tire, rather than through a shear force across it.
In older cars with double wishbone suspensions, camber angle was usually adjustable, but in newer models with McPherson strut suspensions it is normally fixed.

After you go through that corner and the body rolls back to the level position, the wheel that was affected stays in a gross positive camber position.
The new camber compensator which is now available, is based on the original design with a few minor modifications to reduce assembly costs.

In effect, the increased caster increases or "multiplies" the camber setting when the wheel is turned.
This allows you to set less camber to keep the tire flatter in a straight line for better braking traction and improved tire life.
