Back in the mid-1960s, British kids were given a new series of TV shows to watch - starting with Camberwick Green in 1966 and progressing to Trumpton in 1967 and Chigley two years later, the series told the tales of three neighbouring villages in the fictional English county of Trumptonshire.
Camberwick Green was originally shown as part of the BBC's long running umbrella series Watch With Mother, a title that had been used for the presentation of programmes for younger viewers since the early 1950s.
Camberwick Green was repeated on a fairly regular basis during the 1960s [and continued to be so for many years afterwards] but the fact that there were only 13 episodes inevitably led to a degree of repetition setting in.
