 Cambridge University Library - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cambridge University Library is the centrally-administered library of the University of Cambridge in England.
It was housed in the university's 'Old Schools' near the Senate House until it outgrew the space there and a new library in the west of Cambridge was built.
The library is mainly used for research and reference, as the Cambridge colleges and departments have their own libraries for use by undergraduates.

The CUCC library is situated in Pembroke College, on M staircase.
The Library has recently been greatly expanded by donations from ex CUCC members, particularly Nick Reckert, something of a biblophile, who donated about 100 books in 2000.
Current editions of guidebooks in the club library may not be borrowed since they are needed for club trips and are constantly referred to.

 Whipple Library: Special collections
With the donation of his instruments to the University of Cambridge in 1944, he intended to promote the establishment of a science museum, while the books were to become the first nucleus of its reference library.
This RSLP-funded project was co-ordinated under the auspices of CURL (Consortium of University and Research Libraries), and involved the universities of Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Oxford, Sheffield and King's College London.

Cambridge University Library was granted this privilege in 1709 but it was not initially fully exercised by the library.

Stanley Baldwin, first Earl Baldwin of Bewdley (1867-1947), three times Prime Minister, and Chancellor of Cambridge University from 1930, bequeathed his political papers to the University Library.
There are substantial holdings relating to Baldwin's service under Ramsay MacDonald, 1931-35, but in contrast almost nothing dating from either the period in opposition in 1924, or Baldwin's third term as Prime Minister, between 1935 and 1937.

GUIDE TO Cambridge University Library (CUL) is home to Bible Society’s (British & Foreign Bible Society) Scripture collection and archives.
The BFBS Library is housed in the Bradshaw Room off the Anderson Room in the South Pavilion of Cambridge University Library.
CUL is not a public library, and is accessible for academic research etc, only to those holding a CUL Reader’s Ticket, although arrangements can sometimes be made for other visitors to the Bible Society collection.

This is the first phase of a plan to refurbish the area in which the Wilbour Library was previously stored and discussions are underway for the new Wilbour Library space that will offer a variety of strong resources on the study of Ancient Egypt.
The Wilbour Library of Egyptology in The Brooklyn Museum is the most comprehensive Egyptological collection in the western hemisphere, and perhaps the largest in the world as well, rivaled only by the combined research libraries in Cairo.
The nucleus of the Library's resources was provided by a bequest made to The Brooklyn Museum in 1916 by the heirs of Charles Edwin Wilbour (1883-1896), a pioneer American Egyptologist whose personal library had been built up from purchases as well as gifts from the eminent Egyptologists of his day.
