Cambridge is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
The constituency roughly covers the city of Cambridge, including areas such as Chesterton, Newnham and Cherry Hinton, although two wards in the south of the city (Queen Edith's and Trumpington) are in Cambridgeshire South constituency.
Cambridge was a Conservative constituency until 1992 when it was taken by Labour's Anne Campbell who held onto the seat for three Parliamentary terms, until 2005, when it was taken by David Howarth of the Liberal Democrats.

As my constituency is nearby, I have seen that that is indeed what is happening in my hon.
Friend's constituency, where the enormous loss of NHS dentistry is affecting a large proportion of his constituents.
Members have experienced constituents saying, "I've just paid £1,000 for treatment on the NHS." When they have come to me, I have told them that they could not have paid that amount because the maximum that they can currently pay on the NHS is £384.

County Durham is roughly bounded by the watershed of the Pennines in the west, the River Tees in the south, the North Sea in the east and the Rivers Tyne and Derwent in the north.

This large constituency stretches from the cathedral city of Ely in the north to Histon and Impington in the south; from Woodditton and Stetchworth in the east to Cottenham in the west.
Though it is widely perceived as being largely agricultural in character, the area is also home to a considerable number of high tech and manufacturing enterprises.
Most of the Cambridge Science Park lies within the constituency boundaries as do the Babraham Institute, Cambridge Airport, the Marshall Group of companies, the Research Park at Landbeach and Granta Park at Abington.

1913 saw the attempts of Luton and Cambridge to gain county borough status defeated in the House of Commons, despite the approval of the Local Government Board — the removal of Cambridge from Cambridgeshire would have reduced the income of Cambridgeshire County Council by over half.
Upon recommendation of a commission chaired by the Earl of Onslow, the population threshold was raised to 75,000 in 1926, by the Local Government (County Boroughs and Adjustments) Act 1926, which also made it much harder to expand boundaries.
