Cameron Balloons - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cameron Balloons was established in 1971 in Bristol, UK by Don Cameron to manufacture hot air balloons.
Finally, Cameron acquired two-thirds ownership of Lindstrand Balloons, which had been formed by Per Lindstrand after he left Thunder and Colt in the early 1990s.
Cameron bought the majority stake in Lindstrand Balloons from a British industrialist associated with Richard Branson, who had invested in the company to support Branson's series of record-setting balloon flights.

Balloons that can be propelled through the air rather than just being carried along by the wind are known as airships.
The top of the balloon generally has a flap (often referred to as a parachute) of fabric that can be pulled open partially to release hot air in an emergency or for better control of the descent.
When the balloon has landed, it is deflated and unattached from the basket uprights then packed back into its carrying bag, the burner and the basket are disconnected and it is all packed into the chase vehicle.

Cameron Balloons - Airships   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
Cameron Balloons invented the hot-air airship in 1972, and the latest generation of these eye-catching promotional craft incorporates further enhancements including a new engine, ergonomic improvements to the passenger cabin, and increased fuel system flexibility.
Yet despite these enormous cost savings the Cameron series airships provide up to 100 square meters of high visibility advertising space on each side of a hull that is more than half the length of an airship such as the Goodyear ship.
Their advertising value is legendary, but these craft are somewhat bigger than our standard Cameron airships, need large ground crews, vast hangars, enormous mooring masts, cost millions of dollars to buy, and have to be filled with expensive helium to keep them aloft.
