Seaguy - Grant Morrison, Cameron Stewart - Graphic novel review
Grant Morrison is famed for his weird and wonderful approach to comics, often using the surreal and the bizarre in an attempt to demonstrate the evils of the world around us.
The message is easily lost amongst the chaos, and without a point there's nothing more to the book than a series of vignettes, seemingly interconnected by nothing but the central character.
As is usually the case with Morrison's art partners, Stewart does a great job of keeping up with the bizarre requests made of him and adds a lot of character to the book with his clean style and attention to background detail.

Graphic Novel Review » Cameron Stewart
It’s a pet peeve, one that you’ll get sick of hearing about before too long — but here you go: serialization of graphic novels is a headache for the serious-minded reviewer.
The third chapter introduces the Manhattan Guardian, and a zany storyline that reminded me of something Kirby would have done in one of the many not-always-so-very-cosmic Fourth World filler stories — you know, like when the Forever People went to a rock concert or bought a motorcycle or something, and it got weird from there.
Artist Cameron Stewart pulls off the extremely difficult task of evoking the action-packed energy of Kirby without ever actually imitating Kirby (or, at least, without imitating him any more than every superhero comic book published since the sixties imitates him in some way or another).

The art list alone (Guy Davis, Scott Kolins, Michael Avon Oeming, Adam Pollina and Cameron Stewart) should put it on the must-buy list, but the stories are nothing to sneeze at, and a brand new one that puts Stewart together with writer Mike Mignola is the icing on the cake.
Oeming and Stewart are probably the closest together, both using a clean, "animated" style, but they are also very different from one another, with Oeming using more exaggeration and Stewart sticking to a sharper, more realistic, more detailed style.
I have been quite open about my feeling that Cameron Stewart is probably one of the best talents working in the medium right now, and this short story only helps to cement that in my mind.
