Petrescu turned to comedy with Mitica Popescu, a play he had completed in 1926 and published in 1928; it was first staged in 1938 and was performed again in 1945 and 1947.
Camil Petrescu (April 22,1894 — May 14 1957; born and died in Bucharest) was a Romanian playwright, novelist, and philosopher.
Camil Petrescu lost both his parents early in life and was raised by a relative (or a nanny from the Moşilor suburb, the sources remain quite unclear on this).
