Camille Henri Thériault was born February 25, 1955, in Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick.
On May 2, 1998, following the resignation of Premier McKenna, Camille Thériault was chosen to replace interim Premier Raymond Frenette as leader of the Liberal Party.
On May 14, 1998, fulfilling a family dream, he was sworn in as the 29th Premier of New Brunswick.

 Fire downed Swissair 111
Canada's Transportation Safety Board has published their final conclusions from an investigation which has taken more than four years and cost $30m.
Earlier recommendations led to flammable insulation material being removed from aircraft and improved fire procedure for pilots.
Mr Theriault added that the report would "change the face of aviation safety".

The latest Premier was Camille Theriault was elected Leader of the Liberals becoming the 29th Premier of New Brunswick the 2nd of May, 1998.
Seeing that the people were displeased, a Progressive Conservative came up called Bernard Lord and said he would undo most of Theriaults mistakes and got himself a Majority government, gaining 53% of the poplular vote.

After 20 days of picketing by striking professors and librarians at Mount Allison University, Premier Camille Thériault stepped in Wednesday to appoint a provincial mediator to bring the Mount Allison Faculty Association (MAFA) and the Mt. Allison administration back to the bargaining table.
According to Thériault, the government stepped in after the Department of Labour’s conciliator concluded that Mt. Allison’s administration and MAFA were in no position to resume talks without a push.
As the strike passes on, however, students and professors are losing precious class time, and will have to collapse their curricula into a shorter time frame if students are to graduate or leave university in time for summer jobs on time.

The storm was blamed for 20 deaths and cut off power to 3 million people in Quebec, and also hit New England hard.
