Nine months ago I was using Camino (if any of you reading this have worked on Camino in the past but are no longer doing so, please jump back on the project!).
However, Mozilla at this point is a better browser than Camino given the latter's stage of development.

Supposedly Camino is more polished than Firebird, but I didn't notice that.
Camino is also supposed to be faster, but that's hard to see also.
Camino happily loaded a web site that uses a movie as their opening page, but doesn't display XML pages as Firebird and Internet Explorer do.

Camino 1.0 Alpha 1 shares the same code base with Firefox 1.5 (it's based on the Mozilla 1.8 CVS branch), so shares many of the security fixes and Gecko improvements that are in that version of Firefox.
Another Safari idea Camino has borrowed is tabs pinned to the left rather than centered, and with a close button in each tab, which I do prefer and find much more convenient that having to mouse over to the far right of the window or use a contextual menu to close a tab.
Camino practices the Tao of simplicity with an uncluttered user interface but with the features you expect from a modern browser.

Camino is faster on my box than the rest, and I really like the ‘lightness’ of its appearance on my small 17” screen.
I’ve been using Camino since the days when IE was the dominant browser on OS X. Nothing has been able to dislodge it from its perch yet, and with the recent improvements in the nightlies, it’s unlikely anything will any time soon.
But Camino is catching up – it’s my second preferred browser on OS X, followed by Firefox, but only when I have need for the developer toolbar.

Camino is fast – I’ve been running the nightlies for the last year or so with no issues big enough to remember.

Camino is a respectable name and Chimera is a respectable browser and a good example of why Mozilla needs to pare way down and concetrate on nothing more than a browser.
Camino was the planet of the cloners in Attack of the Clones.

Of course if you wanted to call a GUI or a web browser "tomato juice", that would not be a generic term and because it would be a very unusual name for a software, it would be a very strong trademark.
Given that the browser's name is based on an actual common word (which has specific relevance to its choice) and its use is limited (thereby limiting the definition of "category" as well), a challenge of this type would be thrown out of court (and likely never made in the first place).
A web browser is not only in the software category but also in the publishing category and that is also the category where movie studios typically register their stuff.

It’s been quite a while since the 0.6 milestone build of the open source Chimera browser was released, and there was speculation, especially after Apple’s release of the Safari browser, that the Chimera project might be abandoned.
Camino’s rendering, scrolling, etc., are very good, --better than I’ve experienced with Safari.
Those niggles aside, I’m delighted that Camino development continues, as I like the Gecko-based browser is better than Safari, whose appearance and performance I found underwhelming so far.
