 Camp Snoopy's farewell is cause for many long faces
The large Snoopy that has dominated the amusement park at the mall's heart was to be deflated and removed after the mall's closing.
Debbie Suhsen of Bloomington was disheartened to find that her daughter Ashley's renewed annual Camp Snoopy pass already had the Snoopy logo replaced with one reading "The Park at MOA." Suhsen said they have always come to the mall not to shop but to enjoy the indoor amusement park.
Camp Snoopy paraphernalia will be for sale through March, and licensed Peanuts gear (without Camp Snoopy references) will remain available throughout the mall as it is in any retail outlet, said Mall of America spokesman Dan Jasper.

The park was originally known as Knotts Camp Snoopy, and later, simply Camp Snoopy, and was themed around the Charles M. Schulz "Peanuts" comic strip characters.
There are still unrelated parks named Camp Snoopy at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, and at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

A spokesman for Camp Snoopy contacted the Minnesota Family Council and explained that the amusement park doesn't treat any group seeking to rent the camp differently from any other group.

Camp Snoopy announced yesterday the construction of a spinning coaster, the first new attraction for the Mall of America park since 1998.
I've only been to the Mall of America once but I found the way they have everything packed into Camp Snoopy is pretty amazing.
For such a small location there is a pretty decent collection of rides, and it's nice to see them adding another coaster.
