Bro. Thomas compares his work towards the Campbellites with that of the Apostle Paul
Let a Baptist or Campbellite, or other church, remain in "nothing but peace and prosperity" undisturbed, and there is no chance of a soul of them coming to the knowledge of the gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles.
The Campbellite body is not the "One Body." It is infidel of the "One hope of the calling." Its faith is not the "One Faith," but a mere belief of facts; and its immersion is not the "One Baptism," because it is not predicated on the one faith of the things hoped for and unseen.
Campbellite churches profess indeed to be united together on the principles indicated; but we have learned to know that "profession is not principle" in this world of hypocrisy and sham.

When "Campbellites" declare that the Methodist Discipline says that "justification by faith only is a most wholesome doctrine" the "Doctor" says the "quotation is exact." Sometimes "Restorationist" or "Restoration Movement" are used as umbrella terms, for those derived from the Campbellites or Stone-Campbell churches, for example, the Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ.
There are some general similarities to Campbellite teachings, and many of Mormonism's first adherents (including Sidney Rigdon) were previously Campbellites, but The Book of Mormon and the book of Doctrine and Covenants define the Mormons' doctrine in a unique way from any other restoration movement body.
Some scholars, such as Melton, in his Encyclopedia of American Religion, subdivide the Mormons into "Utah Mormons" and "Missouri Mormons," however, these terms are not of common usage, and even unheard of, among the majority of those who call themselves Mormons.

It was basically a conservative movement to return to primitive Christianity, and believed in the universality of atonement.
Later internal disputes over requiring baptism by immersion for admission into fellowship led the more adamant proimmersion party of the Disciples in 1927 to become popularly known as the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, though allied congregations have eschewed denominational structures and still regard themselves more as a federation of independent congregations.
