Topic: Campro engine

In the News (Wed 30 May 12)

Campro engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Campro engine is aimed to show Proton's ability to make their own engines that produces good power output and meets newer emission standards.
The basic Campro engine coded as S4PH is a basic DOHC 16-valve 1.6 L engine that produces 110 bhp (82 kW) @ 6,500 rpm of horsepower and 148 N-m of torque.
Even though the engine seems to be quite powerful at higher revs, its performance is reportedly sluggish at lower revs and this is proven by driving the Gen-2 uphills where drivers who drive the manual transmission version have to shift a lot between 2nd gear and 3rd gear.

Proton says the Campro engine was designed for commuting in cities such as Kuala Lumpur where motorists are happy with small engines and don't mind revving them.
Engine capacities for the Gen.2 are 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre.
Engine tests were conducted on both engine rigs and dynamometers as well as on the road with running prototypes accumulating more than 27,000 hours.

The KLEEMANN twin-screw kompressor system for V6 and V8 engines is the very essence of the KLEEMANN slogan "Comfort Power." High power output combined with a low boost pressure of just 0.5 bar makes the system safe and provides long-term durability for the engine.
In general, a Kleemann supercharger incorporated in a V8 5 litre engine is capable of increasing power output from 306bhp to 506bhp, and 460Nm of torque to 675Nm without modifications to the stock engine.
The CAMPRO is a 1.3 and 1.6litre engine, and does not have a 1.8 variant.

With the 1.3-litre CamPro engine, which is notably more powerful than engines of the same capacity used in earlier models, Proton is now able to offer more Malaysians the pleasure of driving the GEN.2 without compromising on any of the qualities that have made the 1.6 litre version a resounding success.
With a maximum power output of 94bhp (70kW) and maximum torque of 120 Nm from the CAMPRO engine, coupled with a rigid platform and Lotus-tweaked suspension for more agility, stability, precision and control, the GEN.2 1.3 Automatic is also one of the most economical solutions for today¡¯s rising fuel prices.
The Lotus input has also given the CAMPRO a more linear torque progression for better acceleration, resulting in an engine capable of achieving higher top speed as the engine is driven at higher rpm, which makes it a class leader.
