CanJet first sought help four weeks ago, asking the federal competition bureau to stop Air Canada from cutting prices on routes between the four cities.
According to a spokesperson for the competition board the CanJet complaint is still being investigated.
If the competition board finds merit in CanJet's accusation, public hearings would be held and Air Canada could be ordered to stop slashing fares on specific routes.

CanJet bought the cheaper B737-200 and the introduction of the B737NG secured the connection with Boeing.
For CanJet even the B737-600 would make more sense but i think that Boeing is a little bit nervous that the 737-600 is selling even more badly than the 717...

Anyway, CanJet wasn't the only one to miss that night for the very same reason, and nobody else got any attention for not making their destination.
I went on a Canjet flight from Halifax to Ottawa in December of 2004 and I can tell you that on that particular flight my ears bothered me more than usual during decent than they have ever done with Air Canada.
I'm not certain whether this is typical of Canjet flights since I usually flight with Air Canada but it bothered me enough on that flight that I'm seriously considering never flying with Canjet again.

 Analyst: WestJet should consider buying CanJet
I guess the question for Westjet is whether it is cheaper to buyout Canjet, get their routes and eliminate the competition OR simply try to out-compete Canjet on their common routes.
Since, Canjet is buried within IMP Group, which is a privately held corporation, its financial performance is only known to the privileged few.
And while Canjet is moving to the 737-500's, they have several 200's in their fleet and I believe representing more than 1/2 their aircraft still.
