This workshop is the most recent in a series of CIHR research initiatives that have informed and enlivened the public discourse on a subject that is of obvious concern and interest to me as Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

CIHR has always framed its case for access to data in terms that have recognized the importance of protecting personal health information, given its fundamental and intimate connection with the right to dignity, integrity and autonomy.
