	Canary Foundation
		The Canary Derby on June 16th raised $119,000 from the Vancouver Island Technology Community for the BC Cancer Foundation to help support early detection of cancer research within BC.
		Canary's second $1 million donation to British Columbia Cancer Agency was issued as a challenge at their Fashion Gala in Vancover, B.C. The challenge resulted in an additional $589,000 raised for early detection of ovarian cancer.
		Canary in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is extending its postdoctoral fellowship program focused on studies towards development of strategies for the early detection of cancer.

	The Canary Current
		The Canary current is the southwestward flow component of the North Atlantic subtropical gyre.
		The Canary Current flows along the African coast from north to south between 30°N and 10°N and offshore to 20°W (Fedoseev 1970).
		The current passes through the Canary archipelago, the influence of the Equatorial Countercurrent is the same as in winter, and the strong cyclonic gyres form once again.
