		Using the LDS Scottish Church Records CD and microfilms of old parish registers, available at my local Family History Center, I had determined that my sixth great grandfather was Andrew Paterson, candlemaker, born about 1658 and married to Margaret Jameson in 1681.
		At the baptisms of Andrew's and Margaret's children, two witnesses appeared regularly (James Paterson, "messinger," and George Mathie, candlemaker) while other witnesses varied.
		However, I was unable to find a baptismal record showing Andrew's birthdate and parents.
