		However the series based around the players character in the Donkey Kong game (Mario in Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., and so on) had become the household name, and Donkey Kong had apparently joined the greats such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders, in the gone but not forgotten category.
		But rather than just the title character, Donkey Kong Country was filled out with a huge number of supporting characters, a lot of whom were members of the Kong family (or just had the same surname) of simian features.
		The story goes that one night when all the Kong's were asleep, and Diddy Kong was supposed to be on duty minding the banana horde (that Donkey Kong had accumulated), Diddy fell alseep.
