OX (noun): a slang term used to describe a sharp blade Cannibal Ox, a pair of MC's that devour their own kind with words as sharp as blades
Cannibal Ox is getting intense responses from heads and journalists alike...saying that it is hip hop that is street, reality based and lyricaly advanced at the same time...
The hype on Can Ox has been deafening this past year with constant talk of them on all the hip hop sites as well as consistent coverage of them in press without their even being a record out A few cdrs that were in circulation last year actually charted on cmj charts!
When Cannibal Ox's The Cold Vain dropped in 2001 the hip hop world was shook up by the absolute tidal wave of creativity involved.
CANNIBAL OX - Vein / A Bboy's Alpha
Already being showered with intense praise and amazement from the world's underground music press (do us a favour, read this months Wire to know what we're talking about!), CanibalOx have risen from the ashes of the mighty Company Flow and have created one of the defining hip-hop LP's of the early new century.

Though a few beats are decent, the flow is choppy and uninspired, the lyrics are overly-simplistic in both pattern and word choice, and Vast fails to match the ferociously apocalyptic delivery of his Cold Vein performance.
One half of the the underground group CanibalOX, Vast Aire brings his solo LP to the masses...and he doesn't dissapoint.
I'm a huge Cannibal Ox fan, and I definitely felt that Vast was one of the strongest, only rivaled by Murs in my opinion, emcees at Defjux.
Here, Grae promises to take out all " lame dames that couldn’t be felt with Braille scripture." Sure, the refrain that repeats on the hook is unnecessarily coarse, but "Take Me" sees Grae going morally deeper over a vastly overused sample flipping a one-on-one-with-God soliloquy that’s stylishly provocative.
Cannibal Ox’s off-kilter cerebral rhymes and a perfectly-placed mesmeric flute loop help to break up the pace of Bootlegs on "Swing Blades" for listeners who might tire of Grae’s fairly monotone rapid-fire flow.
You have GOT to be kidding me. Are you that guy who drives around campus bumping to Big Tymers while your trunk cries in agony at the amp too powerful for the speakers you crapped out on?
On topic: If you're into hip hop might I suggest Living Legends or CanibalOx (huge list available upon request).
If metal's your thing, I've been listening to quite a bit of Every Time I Die, At the Gates (and other Swedish metal), Converge, and Unearth.
THe only time I hear Hip-Hop music is when they play late nights on Friday nights or Saturday nights.
We gotta have some kind of balance for the kids out there who don't really know what's what and give them a chance to hear mcs such as CanibalOx, Aceyalone, Gangstarr, and Hiero.
You can bleep our the curses just like how they do to most radio songs they play.
