I can say that the Chase is one of the best places in the UK for enjoyable mountain biking.
On the A460 halfway between Cannock and Rugeley, there is a large lay-by type slip road (Righthand side Northbound) that leads to a small farm and a couple of white cottages.
Cannock Chase is an excellant area of trails tucked away neatly north of Birmingham, so on a sunny Sunday you'll have to look at out for lots of casual cyclists out for a family trip.
