		The minute pinion has a small projecting pipe which is left standing beyond the rivet and serves to hold the minute wheel a small distance above the plate; the other end of the minute pinion also has a small pipe which is turned down so that it has just the necessary shake under the dial.

		When removing the metal carrier you should remove the minute disc only but it might happen that the hour disc will be removed as well together with the cannon pinion.
		Also NOTE that the red hour mark on the dial should be placed centrally to match a small punch mark in the middle of the movement plate.

		When the second hand continues to run while the minute and hour hands are stopped, it generally indicates that the cannon pinion is too loose.
		The reason this happens at ~10:30 pm is because that is when the dial train begins to carry the calendar mechanism in anticipation of the date change, and apparently the extra drag is enough to cause the cannon pinion to start to slip.
		There's nothing for it but to tighten the cannon pinion, but this requires a partial disassembly at the very least and it's possible RM will want to give it a complete overhaul just to be sure everything else is perfect.

		Frequent setting shouldn't be a problem unless there is a calendar involved which requires way too much setting and wear on the cannon pinion.
		As long as cannon pinions are well lubricated, they'll slip for a long time without suffering damage, or causing it.
		This usually causes them to either: (A.) bind up and strip out the setting pinion and/or clutch, or (B.) ream out the center of the cannon pinion so that it loses its tension.
