  The Greatest Violinist Niccolo Paganini
Paganini gave the name "Cannon" to the model because of its explosive sound which reminded him of that particular weapon.
He came to use Guarnerius violins as a result of his gambling addiction: He once lost a highly valuable Amati violin at the betting tables, and an amateur violinist allowed him to use his own Guarneri violin.
At his death, his Cannone Guarnerius violin was given to the city of Genoa, where it is still housed in the Palazzo Tursi Museum.

Without giving too much away, as an author I'm trying to draw certain parallels between Guarneri del Gesu's "Il Cannone" (arguably one of the world's greatest violins) finding its way into the hands of Paganini (arguably one of the world's greatest violinists).
I know Fodor played Il Cannone in San Francisco in 1999, but I don't believe "Nel Cor" was on the program.

His favourite was the Vuillaume violin, which he received from Paganini.
It was an impeccably close copy of Paganini's famous Cannone Guarnerius.
Sivori was known to adapt many peculiar pieces such that he could play them, and many of these pieces, once thought absurd, have now become quite popular.

A client of this same shop is missing a Guarnerius and Testore violin by the same man. Police are trying to get the instruments.

This is an old violin with the inscription " joseph guarnerius feat cremonae 1725 made in (germany?)" probably made much later, it has been damaged and repaired on the top middle area near the bridge and there are other little marks revealing its been around a while.
There is also a dull covering of what I'm guessing is old rosin on the surface of the wood in same area.
