		Things boomed in Cannons Creek for a few short years until major expansion took place at the main shopping centre at Porirua.
		It was sited at the northern end of Cannons Creek School, where the entrance is to the park, for many years.

	Clallam County Parks - Salt Creek Recreation Area
		Salt Creek Recreation Area County Park was purchased from the Federal General Services Administration after being surplussed at the end of World War II.
		Salt Creek is a regional park that draws visitors from all areas of the northwest and is another one of Clallam County's premier park areas.

	Moores Creek National Battlefield (National Park Service)
		This dramatic victory ended British authority in the colony and greatly influenced North Carolina to be the first colony to vote for independence.
		The Battle of Moores Creek Bridge, coupled with the Battle of Sullivans Island near Charleston, SC a few months later, ultimately led the 13 colonies to declare independence on July 4, 1776.
		Throughout the park, remnants remain of the 1776 road traveled by patriot and loyalist forces.

		Walkers found the bloodied body of 19-year-old Rachael Lorraine Lawton in mangroves 17 kilometres from Cranbourne at Cannons Creek early on Saturday morning.

		They arrived in Philadelphia in that year on the William and Sarah with records indicating that Johannes Bernhardt Liebenstein was 22 years old and Hans Martin Liebenstein was 24 years old.

		Major territorial additions to the city were made in 1973 and 1988 as part of the reduction and eventual abolition of the Hutt County.
		Off the coast is Mana Island, a government-owned revegetation and wildlife area free of predators, where numerous endangered species are increasing their populations.
		The first major newspaper to centre on the area was the Kapi-Mana News, which was started by a resident of Paremata, Gladstone Hill, on 9 November 1949 and (now owned by a conglomerate) remains the largest weekly paper circulating in the area.
