Canton is the home of the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, a 305 acre campus that houses three high schools and over 5,000 students.
In the township the population is spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 34.9% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 5.9% who are 65 years of age or older.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is tearing out 2.75 miles of old alligatored asphalt between Belleville Road and Denton, and will replace it with smooth new concrete, reconfigured turn lanes and other improvements.
The township wants to improve the appearance of the area to encourage the development that has already started to flourish along the road.
Canton resident Robert Nelson said the area is prime for development, and he’s glad the township is cleaning it up.
