Cape Meares is a small headland on the Pacific coast of northwest Oregon in the United States.
The cape forms a high steep bluff on the south end of Tillamook Bay, approximately 5 mi (8 km) northwest of the town of Tillamook.
Much of the cape is part of Cape Meares State Park, which includes the Cape Meares Lighthouse.

The original optic of the lighthouse was a first order Fresnel built in Paris in 1887, with eight sides and four huge bull's eye prisms, along with a red panel on the outside of the lens to enable a red flash every minute from its steady white light.
The lighthouse itself suffered during this time as well - rust developed freely on the tower's iron sides, and the four bull's eye prisms were stolen from the lens.

Repairs started on the 113-year-old Cape Meares Lighthouse on April 1, 2003, and are scheduled to last through the summer.
A considerable donation by the Friends of Cape Meares along with state lottery dollars provided by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will fund the project, estimated at a cost of $310,000.
During the repairs, visitors will not be allowed in the upper levels of the lighthouse and the light/lens has been wrapped with a protective covering.
