Capitalization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Capitalization is always used for most names of taxa used in scientific classification of living things, except for the second words of a species name.
For some terms a capital as first letter is avoided by avoiding their use at the beginning of a sentence, or by writing it in lowercase even at the beginning of a sentence.
In languages where inflected forms of a word may have extra letters at the start, the capitalized letter may be the initial of the root form rather of than the inflected form.

FRBSF: Economic Letter -Capital Controls and Emerging Markets (08/31/2001)
Capital controls are regulations or taxes that make cross-border financial transactions or investments costly or difficult, typically by restricting the access of a country's residents to foreign currency.
Their reasons for liberalizing capital flows were partly pragmatic, as technological innovations, such as new financial instruments, made it easier to circumvent capital controls, and as, in a number of cases, economic instability provided large incentives for doing so.
Capital flows are subject to pronounced cycles that may induce boom and bust cycles in production and investment among recipient countries and trigger financial or currency crises when financing is withdrawn.

The proposed capital charge for operational risk should be replaced by one that reflects the risk exposure as determined by on-site examination.
If the concept of an "add-on" capital charge for operational risk is not improved substantially in the final rule, then ABA urges the FHFB to amend the proposal to allow the 30 percent add-on to be lowered based on a satisfactory examiner report on a FHLBank's operational risk management.
As noted at the outset, the FHFB is to be commended for its significant accomplishment reflected in the proposed capital rules.

 Titlecase and Adscripts
Following the description of Titlecase, you might expect that Greek accented capital letters would be counted as titlecase characters in the Unicode character database, since in traditional typography they only occur in titlecase (and when they occur on all caps words in Renaissance typography, the accents go to different places).
The glyphs ELOT gave for the capital versions of subscript iota in Unicode 1.0 followed the Subscript tradition: the iota was subscripted, rather than adscripted, under the capital letters.
The distribution of fonts which have subscripts for their capitals depends, not on whether the font was made in Greece or not, but on whether the font design predates Unicode 2.0 or not.

The real justification for their disjunction, where other letters have been borrowed into the IPA from Greek, is that they are not limited to phonetic usage; they have been adopted in the widely used, and largely IPA-based, Practical Orthography of African languages.
The mathematical typesetting of Greek letters in an overall Latin context has developed its own tradition, which Haralambous (§2) spends a little time discussing; it includes the obligatory italicising of Greek, and the preference for closed phi and theta, and distinctive glyphs for alpha and gamma.
This is resolved for Latin mathematical letters in a Latin context by the use of italics—or of plenty of indentation.

FRBSF: Economic Letter - Capital Flows and Exchange Rates in the Pacific Basin (7/17/98)
Determining the relative roles of domestic and external factors in driving capital flows is critical to determining the appropriate response of policymakers.
In contrast, if capital is "pushed" by external conditions, such as low interest rates or adverse business conditions in industrial countries, domestic policymakers must be prepared for the possibility that capital flows may reverse when foreign economic conditions change.
When capital inflows are persistent and sterilized intervention too costly, a country may adopt measures to limit inflows through controls such as ceilings on foreign borrowing by domestic residents or taxes on domestic assets acquired by foreigners.

The U+0041 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER A ('A') is used for an English as well as a French Capital A. This makes it harder to tell which language the text is in.
So, theoretically speaking, at least 475 precomposed Latin letters are superfluous as Unicode characters as they could be decomposed in this way and could be unified with their base letter and diacritic(s).
Examples of these are the precomposed accented letters, Arabic final, initial, medial, final letter and ligature glyphs, braces for vertical text, and precomposed Hangul syllables.
