  Capljina
Much of Capljina Municipality, including Gabela was seized by HVO Catholic militias and, by 1993, "Ethnically Cleansed" of non-Catholics.
Gabela was also the destination point for forced marches of Muslim women and children driven from their homes by HVO ethnic-cleansing campaigns; the very young and old were particularly vulnerable to dying along the path of the forced marches over rugged territory.
Capljina town is one of the centers of a war between the Bishopric of Mostar and the Franciscan's who control the nearby Medjugorje pilgrimate route.
