Stomp Tokyo Video Reviews - Capricorn One
Released in 1978, Capricorn One is the fictional story of a failed NASA mission to Mars and the subsequent cover-up.
Capricorn One obviously follows on the heels of the urban legend that the original moon landing was a hoax.
The methods of faking the landing are similar to those said to exist in the moon landing "hoax": a sound stage in the middle of a desert with a realistic dust-and-rock landscape, a mock landing module, and astronauts bouncing around in slow motion to simulate lesser gravity.

Capricorn One - Music from the Movies
It may be the suspense and chase work that makes the score gripping, but the warm family theme makes the music feel more complete.
The music of Capricorn One can be summed up in two words: percussive and edgy — and it’s perfectly formed.
Capricorn One without all this carefully paced music is like All The President’s Men speeded up.

Parallel Worlds | Pluto in Capricorn | by Greg Foster
This is partly because Capricorn is the energy we depend upon to hold things stable; Pluto is the energy of the most compelling changes.
Even in the face of impermanence, Capricorn takes Pluto's intensity as a challenge; the Sea-Goat's nature is after all to endure for as long as possible, to establish structures that will long outlast the lives of their creators, and overcoming any obstacles to that purpose.
The part of the body under Capricorn's governance is the skeleton, that which endures even beyond death under the right conditions, and that which provides the solid structure with which the softer parts of the body hold their form and positions relative to each other.

Capricorn is one of the topics in focus at Global Oneness.
Capricorns tend to be honest and conscientious in your dealings with other people, but you may learn through experience to not say everything you know.
That said, Capricorns are responsible, self-disciplined individuals who can be very patient in the pursuit of your goals, and you generally act on a well-defined sense of moral right and wrong.

CAPRICORN ONE ($30) is a fun suspense film about the conspiracy that arises when NASA fakes the first manned mission to Mars.
To keep its funding, NASA forces their astronauts to participate in a staged a trip to Mars, when it is discovered that the life support system onboard the spacecraft will fail due to the negligence of a subcontractor.
Hal Holbrook is the NASA director who conceives the idea of staging the trip to Mars for the television cameras, but then decides his own people are expendable for the greater good of the space program.

SMR DVD Review: Capricorn One   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Peter Hyams' Capricorn One is one of those films that usually only come up when one is talking about "guilty pleasures".
Generally derided by critics, as are most of Hyams' films, Capricorn One is the admittedly preposterous story of a manned mission to Mars that is actually faked and the attempt by some shadowy government/corporate group to cover it up.
Unfortunately, the age of Capricorn One is painfully apparent in the soundtrack, even though it has been remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1.

 Capricorn One (1978)
Capricorn One appears in its original theatrical aspect ratio of approximately 2.35:1 on this single-sided, single-layered DVD; the image has not been enhanced for 16X9 televisions.
Capricorn One offers a moderately compelling thriller that fits well in the mildly paranoid tenor of the times.
Nonetheless, when one considers the fact that Capricorn One lists for less than $10, the DVD becomes more appealing, especially when one considers it can be found for a few bucks less than that.

The Space Review: Little red lies   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Capricorn One is not exactly a classic, but it does have some great ideas, great scenes, and a great bombastic score by Jerry Goldsmith, best known for his Star Trek theme.
Capricorn One is the kind of movie that can only be fully appreciated if you consider the period that it was made, most notably in the years following both Vietnam and Watergate.
Now that Capricorn One is being remade, it will inevitably lend fuel to the crackpots who argue that NASA faked the Moon landings.

October 2007 Monthly Astrology Horoscope for Capricorn
There are some subtle things happening to set Capricorns up for the right mental attitude for good luck and prosperity coming in the future.
For Capricorn, Saturn is leaving Leo and your eighth house of "trust and sharing" and moving into Virgo and your ninth house of "multicultural studies and mass media." This is a mixed blessing.
In general, Capricorn suffers when Saturn messes with their mental health, professional goals, love life, and home life.

If there's anything challenging about 2006 for you, Capricorn, it's that the year will be more about exploration than it is about action.
As a Capricorn, one of your greatest strengths is your ability to focus on a goal, to set a target and to stick with it until you've seen that objective take form.
The fact is, many Capricorns put this skill to work by creating organisations or arrangements that benefit others by creating jobs.

 capricorn 1 - review at videovista.net
Capricorn One is about what happens when the first, and therefore extremely hazardous, manned mission to Mars has to be faked.
Knowing that the flight is doomed to failure because of technical flaws in its life support system, an anonymous group of politically aware administrators and greedy industrial backers concoct a scheme to fool the American people (and the rest of the world) into believing that men have walked on Mars.
Rotary Action notes that Capricorn One is possibly the first ever cinema appearance of the unmarked 'fl helicopters', later synonymous with government conspiracy theories.

 Capricorn One Review (1978)
Capricorn One, the first manned space flight to Mars, lifts off without any problems, but there's something going on behind the scenes that the public don't know about - there are no astronauts aboard the rocket.
Capricorn One has appeal to all the conspiracy buffs who believe the moon landings really were faked, and even more so when the movie's concealmement is revealed.
A couple of TV movies later, on the big screen he made Busting, Capricorn One, Hanover Street, Outland, 2010, The Presidio, a remake of Narrow Margin, Stay Tuned, Timecop, Sudden Death, The Relic, End of Days, The Musketeer and A Sound of Thunder.

A conspiracy era drama filled with gripping tension and sweaty climaxes, it led to one of Jerry Goldsmith's most famously edgy scores.
It has a fuller, more rounded sound and eschewed the fragmented feeling of the original film cues, but it left out some layers of texture.
Only in hearing this Intrada release (of the original film sessions) is it so evident that Capricorn One actually employed the same kind of innovative sounds as Planet Of The Apes and The Mephisto Waltz.

The premise of Capricorn One is an interesting one, but despite some pleasing elements the film comes across as distant and touch bland, and it certainly hasn't aged well.
Many of the performances are lethargic and the film lacks that crucial sense of urgency, which means it largely fails to thrill.
When Capricorn One thrills it does it very well, and when the wit seems natural it also delights.
