Captain is the rank of a commissioned officer between commander and commodore or admiral (1 star).
A naval captain traveling aboard a vessel s/he does not command is never referred to by rank to avoid confusion with the nautical captain, who remains in charge of the entire ship (including the passengers who outrank the nautical captain).

Captain Carrot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Captain Carrot is a superhero who lives on the otherdimensional world of Earth-C, an alternate Earth populated by sentient animals.
At the beginning of the Captain Carrot series, he was referred to as "Roger Rabbit"; later in the series, "Rodney Rabbit" was usually used, to avoid legal issues involving the literary (and later film) character Roger Rabbit.
In Teen Titans #30-31 (December 2005-January 2006), Captain Carrot appears in a series of pages purporting to be a Zoo Crew comic published in the mainstream DC Universe, and follows the adventures of the Zoo Crew teammates in a grimmer, darker version of Earth-C, parodying the recent trend toward "grim and gritty" superhero comics.

One is that his performance as a batsman has been disappointing to the extent that were he not the captain he would probably not be in the team; two is that he is tactically not a good captain; and three is that he does not motivate the players.
As a captain, however, every one knew of his tactical weaknesses when he was appointed captain and yet everyone, or almost everyone, welcomed the appointment.

A major hit for silent superstar Baby Peggy in 1924, "Captain January" was sold off to Fox to become a vehicle for the studio's biggest name, Shirley Temple.
This time out, Shirley plays Star, a precocious six-year-old who was rescued from a boat wreck four years earlier by lighthouse keeper Captain January (character actor Guy Kibbee); her parents drowned, and January decided to raise Star himself.
