	Caradon
		Caradon is planning to acquire Columbia, the US aluminium extruder company, for £75m, and has also announced plans to put its bathroom equipment and boilers division up for sale.
		Caradon is to acquire an 85% stake in Termo Teknik, the Turkish radiator company, for £30m, and is selling its UK windows and doors business to Bardox Group for £40m.
		Caradon, the building materials group, is restructuring with a cost-cutting programme and the removal of a management layer.

	Caradon Hill
		A railway was built to link Caradon to the coast at Looe and many villages grew up around its foot to feed its demand for labour.
		The Sett boundaries are highlighted in colour as is the Granite/Killas boundary.

	Caradon
		The Island of Caradon was part of a campaign I ran in the minimalist TWERPS roleplaying game, which I present here expanded and updated for Tunnels and Trolls.
		The island of Caradon lies alone, some distance from the nearest archipelago in the South Eastern seas of Trollworld, but references to it in ancient texts and rumours of the civilisation that once dwelt there are items of currency in the conversation of adventurers and rogues.
		Caradon is too far from the usual sea trading routes to be stumbled upon by accident, although in certain seasons a storm may place a ship within sight of its wooded hills.

		Caradon is both a Basic Command Unit (BCU) within the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and a Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP).
		However, the regional plan identified Caradon as somewhat different from the rest of Cornwall, at least partly due to its proximity to Plymouth, and acknowledged that it was the most prosperous district in mainland Cornwall.
		Nevertheless Caradon residents were somewhat critical of the extent to which it was easy to contact the police, with over half describing this as difficult.

	Caradon Mining District
		The mines working the immediate extensions of the South Caradon lodes – East Caradon and West Caradon – were the most successful – some of the others were little more than trials or speculations and were soon no more than memories, whilst a small number worked patchily for decades, barely paying their way.
		It took ten years to build the railway which was to link the mines to Liskeard – the nearest stannary town, and from there to the port of Looe and it was not until the 1850s that it linked up the majority of the mines and quarries which had sprung up in the area.
		The establishment by Caradon District Council of a Countryside Officer for south-east Bodmin Moor and the conversion of an engine house into a visitor centre are, however, the first steps in an ambitious project to conserve the impressive remains of the industrial heritage of the area.

	Caradon Mine, Cornwall
		The massive waste tips on both sides of the Seaton valley (West and South Caradon Mine) and on the southern flanks of Caradon Hill are a striking testament to the scale of operations beneath the moorland landscape.
		East Caradon continued with a reduced workforce and in the early 1880 there were a maximum of 63 employed at the mine.
		The success of the mines in the Minions area and on Caradon Hill during this period was greatly assisted by the expansion of the Liskeard and Caradon Railway.

	The views of South Caradon Mine
		Within it is the locations of the original South Caradon adit, the mine's administration centre, its main water supply, its oldest shaft, ore dressing shed and a waterwheel.
		This photograph was taken from the vicinity of the public footpath amidst the remains of the adjoining West Caradon Mine.

		With immediate effect, it is recommended that a Tree Preservation Order be taken out with respect to all the trees within the area of ALT 11, in order to ensure their protection during the remaining time that these local plans are under discussion.
		Whitehall does not take into account the previous local Caradon requirement for housing, which was 3050 houses, as per the Cornwall Structure Plan adopted in 1997, nor are they based on the local historical population expansion rates of the area, for the years gone by.
		Caradon Council must have concern over this potential Flood Risk Hazard, and take it seriously in their future Local Planning strategy for these areas.

		It was the large amount of copper found at South Caradon Mine that were responsible for the development of the Caradon Mining District.
		Under South Caradon Limited the workforce grew from 300 to 400 concentrating on the eastern side as the older parts were now almost worked out.
		The Liskeard and Caradon Railway then went into receivership as its existence was dependent on the wealth produced by the South Caradon mine.

		Easco Inc., an aluminum extrusion company based in Girard, Ohio, said yesterday that it had agreed to be bought by Caradon P.L.C. for about $155 million.
