We are planning on 12 nights between April 10-22,2006.We will arrive at Bordeaux and leaving from Toulouse.We are self-drive and this will be the third trip to France.Here are the itinerary 1.Dordogne-7 days 2.Carcassone-2days 3.Sare(near border of Spain)-3days.Any advice would be appreciated.
There are some good Cathar castles west from Carcassone and possibly you could find a good bottle of wine in that area.
If you arrive at 5:00pm, stay overnight, then take the tour in the morning of the Chateau, that's about all the time you will need to see all there is to see.

We are cruising the Canal du Midi in late June/early July (Pt Cassafieres to Castelnaudary) and have s flight out of Carcassone after the cruise end.
We are looking for accomodation in the area (doesn't have to be in Carcassone, but would prefer it's not too far from the airport).
I'm not sure about their accommodations for such a large group, but we just stayed in Carcassone last Thursday night.

France's unseeded Isabelle Stoehr scored the best win of her professional career when she toppled top seeded Scot Senga Macfie 9-0 9-3 9-1 in the semi-finals of the Women's Carcassone City Squash Open in France to reach her first WISPA World Tour final.
The 19-year-old from Tours, a world junior finalist in Brazil in 1997, now faces England's 2nd seed Sue Wright, the 29-year-old former world No3 from Aylesbury in Bucks who is appearing in her 24th WISPA final.

We stopped right by the train station to watch a locke in Canale du Midi being lowered and raised for passing boats.
The man at our hotel was very nice and even gave us a discount because we were staying for 3 nights.
We walked to la cite, which is a fortified, walled city, that overlooks the newer part of Carcassone, where we were staying.
